Pray for Freedom

Their Freedom is Our Challenge: A Call to Prayer and Action

Human trafficking is a devastating reality, one that exists in every state, every country, and every community. But we are not powerless. As people of faith, we are called to stand, pray, and act on behalf of those who cannot speak for themselves.

At The Freedom Challenge, we believe that prayer is a powerful tool in the fight for justice. Whether you're hiking in Arkansas, walking in your neighborhood, or simply listening from home, your prayers carry weight. They matter. And together, we believe God can and will move.

A Prayer for Freedom

In our recent podcast episode, Ruth Willett, Prayer Coordinator for The Freedom Challenge USA, led us through a heartfelt time of intercession. Drawing from Exodus 6:6 and Isaiah 61:1, she reminded us that God's heart has always been for the captive—to set them free, to bring redemption, and to restore the brokenhearted.

"God, we’re calling on You to move. Will You move heaven and earth to free the captives, just as You did in the Bible?"

We pray not only for those currently enslaved but also for the ones vulnerable to exploitation, for survivors in need of healing, and for those working tirelessly to rescue and restore. We pray for the lawmakers, the advocates, and even for the perpetrators—that their hearts would turn, that they would mourn the paths they have chosen, and that God would intervene in ways only He can.

Wrestling with Big Questions

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed when facing an issue as vast as human trafficking. Many of us wrestle with questions: Does God care? Will He act? Why is this still happening?

Ruth encourages us to bring these questions to God, to surrender our need for answers, and to trust in His greater plan. She reminds us of a lyric from Joseph: King of Dreams:

"If I let You reach me, will You teach me? For You know better than I."

When we feel powerless, we must remember: God is not. He is still moving, still redeeming, and still calling His people to step into the fight.

Your Role in the Fight for Freedom

Ending human trafficking is not just for governments or organizations—it’s a mission for all of us. Here are three ways you can take action today:

  1. Pray with Us – Set aside time to intercede for the enslaved, for survivors, and for those fighting for freedom.

  2. Educate Yourself – Learn more about human trafficking in your community and around the world.

  3. Support the Cause – Join a Freedom Challenge event, donate to organizations doing rescue work, or find local opportunities to serve.

Together, We Can Make a Difference

As we stand in prayer, we affirm this truth: Their freedom is our challenge. And we trust that the God who calls us to this work will also equip us to see it through.

Will you join us? Will you pray, act, and believe that God is moving?
