Paying it Forward

One of the amazing things that happens in the lives of women who have been rescued and developed thanks to your support is their desire to help other women – this is exactly what happened in our project in Panama recently

Karina has been attending the project for a while – she is learning to sew and create beautiful quilts which will enable her to earn an income to support her and her children.

Opening up

Each day the women also study the Bible. However, Karina was not very keen on the devotional time – while the other women chatted away and discussed the stories and prayed, Karina would look uncomfortable and disapproving. But as the weeks went by she slowly began to open up, listening more eagerly and contributing to the discussions.

Then one morning, she surprised everyone by asking the group to pray for her niece. She explained how her niece, a young single mom, was very depressed and not capable of caring for her two boys (4 and 2 years old). Karina explained that her niece worked nights at a chicken farm and that one of her boys had disabilities. She was struggling financially and some days she couldn’t even provide food.

God at work

The group prayed and then someone suggested they each write a note of encouragement to Karina’s niece. But then God spoke to the group – and they knew that they could do even more than that. The next day, everyone bought food and household items for Karina’s niece. They filled two large baskets – Karina was amazed and so grateful. These are ladies are themselves living in poverty – but they chose to give sacrificially; they gave out a sense of thankfulness for what they have received.

What an amazing transformation!

This only happens with your support – we are so grateful that you care enough to give. Your generosity encourages other women to be generous too!
